The manager of patient data oversees day-to-day operations of data collection, data entry practices and ensures timely and accurate delivery of data within the pilot system that navigators use to execute programsThis position leads a team of patient information coordinators, managing colleague performance and data-related processesThe manager of patient data continually seeks out opportunities to improve the delivery of data through optimizing technology, staffing, automation, and process improvement.
Provides process and data subject matter expertise in support of onboarding new clients and programs
Tracks and manages the flow of all incoming data from external sources; immediately reports gaps, outliers, and issues to management; works with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to the delivery of data
Advocates and leads electronic data capture efforts; provides recommendations for database specifications
Manages all data functions related to capturing patient demographics, documents and episode information across programs and clients
Ensures delivery of daily, weekly, and monthly data requirements used for delivery of program services; as needed, provides summary reports of data deliverables to stakeholders
Directly supervises pic team members; includes job performance, time, attendance, and pto schedules
Consults with team members to solve operational or data problems
Seeks continuous process improvement to reduce turnaround times and improve accuracy
Develops standard operating procedures, documents, and other data management departmental activities.
Ensures administration and understanding of standard operating procedures and oversees governance of those procedures
Establishes, manages, and reports all team and individual key performance indicators for department, including productivity and data quality metrics
Provides process support and role-specific pilot software guidance to team members
Oversees colleague access to client-specific external sources used to obtain patient information
Coaches, mentors, and leads staff in team meetings, huddles, and one-on-one team member meetings
Provides time and resource analysis as it pertains to staffing recommendations based on workloads, roles, and clients
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field preferredA combination of education and related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum 6 years relevant healthcare or patient data management experience; prior experience leading a team preferred
Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare landscape
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to act independently with minimum supervision, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be able to qualify and maintain hipaa requirements
Ability to act independently with minimal supervision
Ability to support and interact with colleagues providing supervision
Proficiency in microsoft office (word, excel, and outlook) and data entry skills
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills needed
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking
