The carrier reporting & analysis hub asia is part of group finance supporting the finance deliverables for the swiss re asia limited entities and swiss re lh australiaMandate includes timely and accurate reporting across multiple valuations to governance bodies, management committees and to the various external regulators across jurisdictions as team leader for branch and parent reporting, your responsibility is to take ownership and accountability of the timely and accurate deliverables of your team across the various local accounting standards of the swiss re asia branches and singapore regional officeYou will also work closely with the on-shore finance managers across our branch locations in ensuring smooth delivery out of bangalore
About the role – responsibilities
Ensuring end-to-end local statutory close and reporting for legal entities across local accounting valuationsLead your team in working with local teams in preparation for statutory and regulatory filings in-line with the local country requirements for the asian branches.
Responsible for work allocation and review of the work done by your team membersTake ownership and accountability for your team deliverables
Understand the technical requirements of the deliverables across teams and support in solving issues, developing solutions, and reviewing outcomes.
Managing reporting deadlines / timetables to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tasks,
Co-ordinate meetings with finance managers and other key stakeholders and drive them independently.
Own relationship with key stakeholders, and drive collaboration and partnership between bangalore and regional finance teams and finance managers across the branches.
Undertake thorough and ongoing reviews of processes and documentation and work with your team to identify areas for improvement and efficiency, and leading the way in bringing about these improvements and enhancing productivity
Drive the succession and backup plan for the key activities in the team
Foster an environment of high collaboration, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and contribute to establishing a great reputation of the team.
Help and groom team members to grow in their roles and realise their potentialEmpower them by delegating effectively
Involve in recruitment and hiring for team/unitContribute to on-boarding new team members and transferring knowledge as appropriate.
Key skills, knowledge, qualifications & experience
Chartered accountant, certified management accountant, cpa, master`s degree in finance, accounting or business administration
10+ years of hands-on experience in doing monthly / quarterly / annual close of entities and working closely with local entity accountants / financial controllers / cfo
Should have prior experience of managing a team
Expertise in international accounting standards preferred (ifrs / us gaap) - experience in statutory and regulatory reporting is mandatory.
Insurance / reinsurance / financial services knowledge preferred
Sound knowledge of taxation will be an added advantage
Experience of working with external and internal auditors is desired
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-starter and ability to work under time pressure
Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Team player with strong social and networking skills
Must demonstrate strong managerial / leadership skills to be able to lead and influence an experienced team of qualified accountants (ca, cs, cma, cpa) and post qualified (mba)
Ability to align to leadership thoughts and organisation objectives
