This position focuses on building strong business relationships with corn growers toward the goals of customer satisfaction, customer retention, sales growth, and profit.
Under the direction of the region manager, the district sales manager ensures the best possible interaction with current and prospective customers while executing the sales and marketing strategic plan, in accordance with company policies and proceduresThere are no direct or indirect subordinatesThis position does require budgetary responsibilitiesThis position does require a high degree of accuracy and interaction with the entire sales and marketing team.

Utilize sales techniques to actively acquire and manage customers and prospects in a geographic territory.
Provide value added solutions to customers regarding product selection, placement and agronomics.
Recruit and motivate independent seed representatives.
Train independent and retail seed representatives on products, positioning, agronomics, programs, and business procedures.
Analyze and build knowledge of the district territory to determine strategies and the best use of resources to increase market share and build demand for wyffels hybrids.
Implement company programs with integrity and to maximize both sales and roi.
Provide management with market information, feedback on product performance needs, sales and marketing ideas and inventory projections.
Manage the companys inventory and districts allocations to maximize sales, customer success, and long-term goals.
Deliver presentations to seed reps/customers, at district or company meetings, and field days.
Recruit locations for on-farm trials and side-by-sides against competitors.
Work cooperatively with other departments to meet corporate goals.
Work within established expense budget.
Observe company work safety and safe driving standards.
Execute and implement the marketing strategy and plan.
An employees performance will be measured by his/her contribution in meeting the overall expectations of the sales department and companys expectations in relation to the overall companys strategic plan.
Bachelors degree, preferably in agriculture or equivalent of 3-5 years of previous work experience.
3-5 years of seed sales experience is required.
Must live within assigned sales territory.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Knowledge of principles and methods for marketing, promoting, and selling seed corn
Results-oriented, one-on-one direct selling skills
Ability to advise customers and seed representatives about products and programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, commissions, etc.
Strong work ethic and professionalism
Enthusiastic commitment to team building
Strong organizational skills, with adaptability to change
Dedication to creating value for the customer
Strong one-on-one coaching/mentoring skills
