Position: specialist, creative content
Reports to: manager, marketing communications
Position term: 12 month-contract
Deadline: open until filled
Location: remote for the near future (within canada)

Reporting to the manager of marketing communications, the creative content specialist (ccs) embodies the voice and tone of their respective supporter segment – covenant partners, segment execution agile team (seat) – while upholding world vision canada’s brand narrative through use of creative contentS/he carries the perpetual tension between fostering a trusting relationship with the supporter segment and advocating for the world’s most vulnerable children.
Duties and responsibilities
Executes content for specific audience segment in compelling and unignorable ways.
Creates, writes and produces relevant content to realize segment team’s shared vision.
Owns writing flow, readability, sentence variety and structure, specific to their segment.
Writes, produces and repurposes creative content for audience segment, leveraging support from internal subject matter experts (estimated 80%/20%).
Engages internal subject matter experts and cross-functional teams as needed.
Coaches all subject matter expert inputs to ensure alignment with segment team’s shared vision on donor value.
Participates in creative community of practice.
Supports the creative briefing process.
Envisions and owns 100% of creative strategy for a specific audience segment’s journey from lead to legacy.
Leads highest value creative for respective audience segment.
Imagines how a fulfilling relationship between trusted brand and faithful donor might function.
Stays current on topics and issues that matter to their audience segment, providing feedback to segment team where relevant and adapting the creative content approach as needed.
Implements test and learn cycles using data and insight, aiming to be as close to the donor’s needs and desires as possible.
Stewards donors through use of creative content and effective communication, including but not limited to: social media, online presence, events and product offerings.
Active in biweekly scrum ceremonies and daily stand-up meetings with seat.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
Minimum 3 years’ marketing communications experience; ideally with an international ngo.
Experience working in an agile team environment an asset.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding ability to write creative content to a variety of demographics and audiences.
Ability to produce content for various mediums, including digital and print.
Knowledge and working expertise on strategy for social media platforms, such as facebook, twitter, instagram, youtube.
Search engine optimization (seo) writing experience an asset.
Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, proofreading and creative skills.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and pivot quickly.
Embraces a non-hierarchical approach, modelling transparency, collaboration and trust.
