Position summary
The automation engineer/program manager will have deep knowledge and experience in prospecting, developing, and implementing automated processing systemsThis role will select and deliver automated manufacturing systems that increase output, reduce labor content, and improve safety and quality in existing manufacturing processesLocation: remote responsibilities and duties:
Locate, engage, and manage various system providers and integrators to select and determine existing in-scope watts processes that can be successfully automated for the greatest roi.
Develop business cases for selected automation proposals to obtain funding for implementation.
Manage funded automation projects from inception-to-completion with delivery of targeted improvements in safety, quality, output, and roi.
Manage numerous automation proposals and implementations simultaneously.
Establish successful cross-functional relationships within watts required to provide automation project selection and implementation deliverables.
Provide periodic scheduled updates for prospecting, evaluation, in-process, and implemented automation actions.
Possess entrepreneurial approach in managing selection and delivery of automation implementation deliverables.
Education:
Bs in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related field.
Management:
This position has no direct reports
Experience and required skills:
3-5 years of similar automation systems engineering experience
Experience in automation program management.
Experience in selection and relationship management of automation system integrators
Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Knowledge of nema standards.
Familiar with osha machine safety and guarding regulations.
Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools
Advanced computer skills including proficiency in microsoft office and cad solid modeling.
Knowledge of various manufacturing processes
Familiar with project acceptance requirements, quality systems to ensure repeatability requirements and accuracy for quality for mass production.
Required licensing/certifications
Six sigma certification a plus
