About the role: we are looking for a new product development (npd) senior business process improvement engineer/specialist (pies) to join our businesses in flagstaff or phoenix, arizona with an option for remote workIn this role, you will drive npd business process improvements to enable the medical products division (mpd) to effectively deliver new products to market; this is done by providing clear expectations and aligning cross-functional teams accountable for executing the npd processAs such, the npd pies will possess strong organizational skills and will apply change management principles to prioritize and implement improvements.
Responsibilities:
Drive streamlined, value-added npd business process that supports our divisional programs and business objectives and reduces time to market
Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate needed npd business process streamlining improvements
Employ sophisticated stakeholder management for key process changes
Aid in the decision-making process, including facilitating change management engagement meetings with leadership and impacted associates
Train and coach npd teams on the benefits and use of the npd business process to ensure process is used effectively and consistently across projects
Provide feedback mechanism for npd teams to help further improve the npd business process
Align with the npd pmo and leadership on key npd improvement initiatives and work with the npd process champion to implement coaching, training, and process updates at a sustainable pace
Support, influence, and enhance the organizational environment such as project governance to enable npd project success
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years experience supporting or leading npd projects or in a business process improvement role
Demonstrated experience in product development and design control processes or similar regulated environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate ambiguity to provide clarity to npd teams, effectively influence across functions and businesses without direct authority
Experience and passion for fostering an environment for diversity, equity, and inclusion
Demonstrated problem solving skills in a wide variety of situations and applications
Demonstrated ability to interface with different audiences (leaders, peers, and team members) through excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to travel up to 10%
Desired qualifications:
Knowledge of change management
Continuous improvement expertise (lean six sigma green / black belt or similar)
Previous business process development experience
