Caen is looking for an enthusiastic individual to provide design, project management, and high level troubleshooting for conference room av systems in the college of engineering to support future hybrid meetingsIn addition, you will be part of a team supporting faculty and students with instructional technology in the college of engineeringYou will work with other instructional and informational technology staff in designing, managing, and maintaining our audiovisual(av) environmentYou will also work with our departments to identify opportunities to improve virtual and collaborative learning in the hybrid environment we are now inThere are opportunities to work with people throughout the college, in the academic departments, in order to find solutions that fit their needsYou will report to the director of it facilities and operations.

Consult and design some of the most challenging and innovative av solutions in college of engineering conference rooms and learning spaces.
Collaborate on site surveys, systems design, line drawings, detailed engineering plans, and other design related materials.
Develop and document equipment and system design standards in narrative form and schematically; participate in new technology research and development.
Support of av equipment including: control systems and all presentation systems, audio and video conferencing equipment, distributed audio, and sound reinforcement.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues, as well as track, resolve, and follow up on operational problems with equipment.
Maintain and document current expert knowledge of audiovisual technologies; maintain a working knowledge of competitor products and services and of emerging trends in the audiovisual, conferencing and collaboration industry.
Supervise and mentor student employees.
Work with departmental it and faculty and staff customers to collect their needs and incorporate that into technical solutions and standardized system designs.provide necessary training and assist departmental it personnel, faculty, students and staff to interact with audio/visual and computer technology and media in conference rooms and learning spaces.
Participate in conference room projects at all stages; carry the project through the conceptual, design, installation, and commissioning stages.
Help with rfp’s, quotes, pricing documents and scopes of work; work with vendors and within a supportive team environment to accomplish project and professional goals; ensure that project milestones are met including close out documentation and punch list items.
Bachelor’s degree and/or associates degree in a technology related field and 3+ years of related experience supporting av infrastructures or equivalent education and relative work experience
Considerable experience with and knowledge operating complex audio-visual and computer based technologies
Experience with technical aspects of a/v installation
Familiarity with teleconference equipment, protocols and platforms including hardware codecs, zoom and/or other web conferencing platforms
Experience with crestron products and other major equipment manufacturers
Strong analytical skills: ability to troubleshoot equipment, connection and software problems
History of demonstrated strong interpersonal and positive communication skills resulting in positive experiences with a very diverse community of faculty, students, and staff
Interested in learning and exploring technology in a collaborative team environment focused on customer service.
Avixa cts certifications or training
At least one crestron training or certification (such as crestron digital media certified designer or engineer [dmc-d or dmc-e], crestron nvx av over ip, crestron control system programing)
Hands-on experience, training or certification with other major equipment manufacturers (dante, biamp, extron, atlona, epson, sony, shure, etc)
Basic knowledge of ip networks, routing, addressing, and device configuration
Knowledge of applicable university policies and procedures
