The srProcess safety engineer will be responsible for leading the north america railcar repair group’s cleaning efforts related to process safety, engineering project design, mechanical equipment, environmental impact reduction, and chemical safety as it relates to railcar car cleaning.
Conducts on-site cleaning process safety audits.
Develops state-of-the-art cleaning process standards and employee training.
Develops and leads cleaning process capital projects.
Develops sops and safety specifications related to north american cleaning processes.
Develops and maintains cleaning process kpis.
Researches and develops cleaning process automation and new technology.
Collects and analyzes cleaning process performance metrics across north america.
Researches and develops waste reduction and sustainability projects.
Reduces business short-term and long-term risk through constant improvement initiatives.
Knowledge and skills required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, ms office and financial software applications.
Strong engineering background.
Detail orientated with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time.
Ability to travel up to 30-40%.
Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, mechanical, or chemical engineering preferred.
Minimum of 4-7 years of related work experience in railcar cleaning, chemical processing, or another related industrial environment.
