Full job description
This position is located in the department of health & human services (hhs), centers for medicare & medicaid services (cms), center for clinical standards and quality (ccsq), quality, safety, & oversight group (qsog), division of clinical laboratory improvement and quality (dcliq).
As an it specialist (data management), gs-2210-11/12, you will develop and administer hhs databases used to store and retrieve data and conduct data and statistical analysis from that data.
Analyzes large scale information technology (it) databases and similar programs using skills in descriptive and multivariate data mining methods, it and advanced analytical programming.
Develops drafts of statistically reliable methods, strategies, and algorithms to mergeDevelops statistical approaches to ensure valid and reliable findings.
Develops reporting systems to establish summarization and presentation of data management efforts in order to identify outlier and aberrant patterns.
Prepares and presents draft staff status reports, option and briefing papers, issues analysis, and policy recommendations.

In order to qualify for the gs-11, grade level, you must meet the following: you must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the gs-09 grade level in the federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector), to include: 1) utilizing it data management principles, concepts, methodologies to assist in administering databases; 2) assisting in completing statistical analysis from data; and 3) querying database language (e.gSas, sql).
