This position is part of the air force elements, u.sTransportation commandThe incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing the activities of the budget division.
As a budget officer at the gs-0560-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Representing budget and funds management division with a variety of installation and functional area organizations, to include developing working relationships with personnel.
Performing budget execution work involving substantive national programs on a long-term basis with have a long-term life cycle.
Performing analysis of budget current-year execution, as part of the ppbe processes.
Developing financial strategies to provide senior leaders data-driven options to fulfill war-fighter needs.
Managing multiple phases of agency financial resources, providing input for decisions regarding the commitment of financial resources
Occasional travel - you may be expected to travel for this position.

You may qualify at the gs-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
AOne year of specialized experience equivalent to the gs-13 grade level in the federal service:
Providing oversight of budget execution for a major program.
Formulating and providing oversight of budgets for a major program, to include modification and reporting.
Developing strategic plans, policy, procedures or guidance to accomplish mission objectives for financial management programs.
Providing team leadership, to include workload management of other employees.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., peace corps, americorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social)Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employmentYou will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
