Provide conceptual electrical engineering recommendations, and discipline leadership and guidance, on large- and medium-sized capital projects, whether domestic or international, involving new and/or existing industrial manufacturing facilities at the company’s plant sites.
Knowledge and experience in electrical technologies and equipment including but not limited to power distribution, transformers, switchgear, motors and their control, electric heaters and their control, lighting, grounding, cables, electrical area classification, and electrical codes and standards.
As a member of a project team, provide and/or lead electrical engineering/design work to complete front-end loading (fel) deliverables and production design, including preparation of or guidance to the following items: 1) electrical scopes of work, estimates, and schedules; 2) electrical equipment specification and procurement; 3) electrical design drawings for site installation by construction forces.
Coordinate with other engineering specialists to provide economical and expedient designs for the most competitive facilities consistent with business and project objectives.
Be a mentor to less experienced engineers, designers, or contractorsProvide and share technical expertise and thorough understanding of the project process.
Work closely with the engineering contractor, equipment suppliers, and site and construction colleagues to ensure the safety, operability, and maintainability of equipment and its installation.
Provide electrical engineering assistance during site installation, check-out, commissioning, and start-up of equipment.
Provide specialized electrical consulting directly to the sites, in support of capital project engineering, and/or during equipment commissioning and start-upAreas of consulting include, but are not limited to, the following: electrical (hazardous) area classification; compliance with national electrical code® and chemours engineering practices; and consulting for equipment such as motors, motor control centers (mccs), adjustable speed drives (asds), and power controls for electric heating.
Travel to company plant sites and supplier locations to support the development of scopes of work, equipment specifications, and design drawings; for equipment inspections; to gather information for electrical consulting work; and at times during site installation, check-out, commissioning, and start-up of equipment.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Bachelor of science in electrical engineering
A minimum of ten years’ experience as an electrical engineer
Excellent team player with the ability to lead small teams
Strong communication and organizational skills
Fluent use of microsoft office
