Texhahn media, inc., is a communications marketing agency operating through four market-facing brands: apron food & beverage, hahn public communications, predictive media network and white lion interactiveThe agency is ready to add a high-caliber media relations / account manager to join our hahn public team specifically to concentrate on the energy sector.
The ideal candidate has a strong media relations background in the oil and gas energy industry, brings a number of relationships with current journalists to the role, is current with trends and technological advances in the renewables space and has a keen interest and understanding of both fossil fuel providers as well as the politics of climate change.
Conduct research into, and outreach to, energy-related trade press on behalf of clients.
Identify influential industry reporters and actively work to build relationships with those reporters.
Serve as the “second chair” on one of the agency’s largest to project manage numerous public relations-related tasks ranging from media pitching to content creation.
Interpret industry data to produce news-making insights; then, work with creative team members to design attention-grabbing work product including infographics, presentations and fact sheets.
Write articles, speeches, talking points to bridge technical information into audience-ready materials.
Write and produce a regular content series made for youtube focused on the nexus between climate change and energy.
Offer sound strategic thinking and deliver work aligned with creative briefs.
Effectively manage time on projects and work within a prescribed time-budget.
May include other duties as assigned including photography or video-related assignments.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, advertising or equivalent.
Eight (8) to 12 years of media relations experience in the energy industry.
Obsessive organization and collaboration skills matched only by extraordinary hustle and a competitive spirit.
Demonstrated research-to-insights translational skills and application of those insights.
Superior writing, editing and proof-reading skills in ap style.
Ability to present and defend ideas effectively both internally and with clients.
Ability to listen and understand client feedback and feedback from internal critiques.
Have demonstrated a passion for learning new technologies and emerging trends.
Must be highly responsible, collaborative and self-motivated.
Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously and quickly adapting to changing circumstances.
Bonus: very good powerpoint production and presentation skills.
Candidates selected for final-round interviews will be required to complete a disc personality profile.
Candidates selected for final-round interviews will be asked to pitch themselves to a panel using a powerpoint presentation to be developed by the prospect.
