Full job description
The investigations center for curriculum and professional development—dedicated to advancing the teaching and learning of mathematics for all students and teachers and home to the elementary mathematics curriculum investigations in number, data, and space —is currently recruiting for a part-time, senior research associate-curriculum developer.
The investigations staff, together with consultants whose work focuses on equity, are developing resources designed to support teachers and educators in thinking about issues of equity, access, identity, and agency in the investigations classroomThe successful candidate will work directly with authors and members of the equity team on the development and production of resources and enhancements to the curriculum and professional development materials that support equitable teaching and learning.
Tasks may include development of new curriculum-based activities; production of and editing unit-specific materials for students and teachers; coordinating and managing classroom-based field test; collecting and analyzing feedback and data from teachers; and/or producing and delivering professional development sessions for educatorsStrong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are requiredEffective communication skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment are essential.

Qualifications: *
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education, child development, psychology or related field
Minimum of 10 years k-5 classroom teaching experience
Deep interest in and experience with thinking about issues of equity, access, identity, and agency in the k-5
Mathematics classroom
Direct knowledge of and experience with the investigations curriculum and mathematics education
Experience teaching learners from diverse backgrounds, multi-lingual learners, and/or students with identified
Learning needs
Experience working with school-based educators and a wide range of families
Excellent written, oral, and computer skills requiredMultilingual speakers a plus.
This is a part-time exempt position (20-24 hours per week) with the option to work remotelyCompensation commensurate with experienceExcellent benefits.
