About team the marketplace fulfillment team is responsible for the entire post order experience at swiggyThe team consists of core logistics, driver experience and solutions to enable and power our customer service agents with the agent workbench, chatbots and live tracking screen for customers and agents.
Serviceability within mfp focuses on when to take orders (and when not) based on available supply of drivers, estimated time to deliver etcIt is a customer backwards construct - it endeavors to deliver the best customer experience under the constraints of driver supply, weather/traffic conditions etcIt also makes a “promise” to customers (time to deliver) while making optimal trade-off decisions between “number of orders to accept” and “confidence to deliver within promised sla”.
What you will be doing as a senior engineering manager, you will be responsible for leading development teams that are responsible for delivering accurate and timely data in innovative ways for our engineering teamsThe successful candidate will have influence over the vision, features and design of the critical data used to drive the businessYou will own all phases of the development lifecycle from gathering business requirements, design and modeling, development, deployment, and supportYou are responsible for all things people on your team – hiring and developing a high-performing team of software engineers.
What qualities are we looking for?
10+ years of progressive technology experience in software engineering functions and have/show leadership initiatives
Proven ability in architecture and building scalable systems.
Understand software architecture and system design very well
Good at problem-solving and innovative thinkingLove to be hands-on.
The ability to envision the future engineering needs of the company – plan and implement accordingly the creativity to do things differently
The ability to think and plan strategically for the technical needs of the company
Skill at collaboratively overcoming objections from team members with dominant personalities

Work across other departments to get alignment on dev-related items coach team members on coding practices and in making business-driven decisions.
Lead and manage an effective engineering function to support product development and quality of life for the development team
Build a development dream-team, including recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and performance management
Work closely with the company leaders including the technical founder, product, operations, and customer care to strategically use fact-based analyses to deliver recommendations
Make decisions related to managing the software development process and team
