The audit and compliance division (acd) enforces compliance with new mexico tax lawsAcd employs a variety of tax research tools to analyze tax data to improve efficiency, streamline processes, improve customer service, and to develop new compliance programs and tax collection initiativesAcd promotes voluntary compliance of registering, filing, and paying taxes by educating taxpayers, promoting managed auditsThe purpose of this position is to examine, analyze and interpret tax accounting records for the purpose of determining compliance with federal and state laws, statutes, rulings, and regulations, and generally accepted accounting and auditing standards; complete tax audits of corporations, businesses and individuals; prepare and presents audit reportsThis position devotes a substantial portion of formulating and applying mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods using a computer to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation or other managerial functions.

Must possess and maintain a valid new mexico driver`s licenseMust possess and maintain a current defensive driving course certificate from the state of new mexico or must pass and receive defensive driving course certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employmentMust be current with all tax reporting/paymentEmployment is subject to pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.
Working conditions
Executive order 2021-066 requires all employees with the state of new mexico to provide either proof of covid-19 vaccination (including proof of a booster dose of vaccine by january 17, 2022, or within four weeks of becoming eligible for a booster dose) or proof of a covid-19 viral test every week.
The public health order (on vaccination) dated december 2, 2021, requires congregate care facility workers and hospital workers to have received a primary series of vaccination by october 6, 2021, and a booster dose of vaccine by january 17, 2022, or within four weeks of becoming eligible for a booster.
