Description reporting to the director of facilities, the assistant director of facilities for project management will manage programming, design, budgeting, and construction of school-related interior improvement projects, mep improvement projects, and capital projects on the campus of stAlbans school.
Specifically, areas of responsibilities will include:
Develops, with oversight by the director of facilities, programmatic requirements for scope of renovation projects;
Prepares budget estimates for design services, other consultants’ fees and construction in collaboration with the business office;
Reviews and prepares design packages for permitting and pricing and evaluates pricing against budget;
Manages relationships with contractors and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success;
Provides on-site oversight of all construction projects, including but not limited to, project timeline management, review and approval of punch lists, and awareness and mitigation of all safety concerns;
Monitors quality standards of construction and conformance to contract documents;
Prepares close-out documentation;
Develops and manages preventative maintenance schedule for anticipated lifecycle repairs;
Serves as property manager for stAlbans residential properties, coordinating regular and emergency services for the properties and interfacing with residents.

Supervision exercised for the purposes of management, performance assessment, and span of control, the assistant director of facilities for project management directly supervises:
Professional experience/qualifications experience: a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in facilities design and construction, architecture, or construction managementEducation: bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, interior design, project management, or other related field requiredCertifications: pmp, leed ap, and/or osha 10-hour preferred.
Knowledge of architectural and engineering principles and practices, including contract administration, building codes and construction materialsExcellent attention to detail and accuracy;
Ability to independently plan, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks;
Demonstrated strategic skills in short- and long-term planning and facilitation and collaboration;
Ability to negotiate, mitigate conflict, and build alliances;
Experience managing people and teams to achieve desired results;
Creative, innovative, and strategic thinking ability;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills;
