Job summary:
The development manager coaches and guides the teams developing software products and components for solifi’s back office productsHe or she will manage one or more development teams on projects of all sizes (small to large) and will ensure that the products and components are of high quality, scalable, and reusableThe manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining good product architecture and will be a key technical resource on product capabilities and integration options.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Motivates development team to adapt and evolve into a self-organizing team.
Understands the role the team plays in the larger company objective and works toward achieving company goals
Works collaboratively with po, sm, and senior management so that the teams are working to the agreed schedule and goals
Learns the product functionality and the technology used to develop the product to become adept at evaluating team members and put development plans
Ensures that the team follows the established development process and implements changes to the process when necessary
Ensures that the implementation of the product satisfies the product specifications and follows established coding standards
Gathers and analyzes metrics on team performance as a means of identifying strengths and improving on weaknesses
Actively develops staff within own function; supports department’s succession plan
Interviews and hires new developers and designers as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Requires 4-year degree in computer science or a related discipline
Advanced degrees are a plus, as are any education/experience in accounting software
Requires 7-10 years’ experience in software product development
Work experience in agile environment, agile teams.
Experience in building and supporting large enterprise application
Hands on development ability and adept at to effectively guiding the team on complex design and development challenges
Experience with modern software development practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and refactoring
Ability to coach and motivate team members
Extensive knowledge of the agile development process with a broad understanding of the software development lifecycle process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance
Excellent problem-solving skills
Exhibits excellent oral and written communication in english
Is a team player and works well in cross-functional environment
Can organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks/assignments/projects simultaneously
Knowledge of angular, dojo, node.js, python, aws lambdas a plus
Knowledge of microservices, amazon web services, and saas solutions a plus
Has knowledge of web development, one or more modern development frameworks, relational databases (postgresql and oracle)
Location: bangalore/mysore, india.
