We are in search of a mechanical engineer that wishes to focus on the design efforts and activities of complex central energy plant systems and buildings.
You must have five years of relative experience in similar systems and be located in the northeast us with easy commutable access to the nyc metropolitan regionWe have projects from boston to philadelphia, but with over 50% in the nyc market.

Responsibilities for design engineer:
Evaluation, analysis, inspection, field testing, troubleshooting, and design of engineered systems for central energy plants
Hvac system design
Able to navigate a mechanical room and perform field surveys of piping systems
Prepare drawing sets per smith engineering standards
Manage priorities of multiple simultaneous projects
Manage, develop, and mentor junior engineers
Review and check all engineering design deliverables
Provide project status updates
Construction administration and project management
Communicate effectively with customers
Collaborate with our internal teams, including energy engineering, building controls, and automation, and our principal engineers
Qualifications / skills:
Substantial experience working in a small team environment with few supporting departments
Proven experience with managing multiple engineering design projects simultaneously
Working knowledge of dob now and nyc department of buildings processes and requirements
Extensive experience with construction administration and project management
Experience mentoring new engineers
Basic engineering calculations
Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Technical expertise in basic engineered system knowledge
Education, experience, and licensing requirements:
Six years of production experience on engineering design projects
Five years of experience on complex central plant systems chw, steam, chp, and airside optimization projects
Bachelor`s degree in engineering
Autocad experience, bim methodology desired
Licensed professional engineer in ny state desired
This is based in the northeast region of the us with the need to be within a reasonable distance of the greater new york city metropolitan areaWe will consider ny, nj, ma, pa, ct, and riThe applicant can work in the office and can work remotelyThe applicant is expected to work onsite at customer locations for specific responsibilities and may require travel.
