The ideal electrical controls technician is a self-motivated individual with technical controls experience, preferably in the automation industry, and can flourish in a team-centric environment.
The engineering technician will be based in the western united states to work remotely.

The controls/engineering technician reports directly to the controls/electrical engineering manager.

Responsibilities of role
Performs complex and technically demanding work within the technical area of expertise
Effectively identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them
Leads the resolution of complex equipment/system failures and faultsInterfaces with customer personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution
Participates in equipment trial runs, investigative tests, and repairs
Participates in training customers on products and services
Participates in sales/quoting activities
Participates in electrical/controls engineering, start-up support, and service calls
Participates in the assessment of product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements
Supports electrical and system installation
Supports engineering/project management team with documentation
Completes documents of all inspections, maintenance, and repair work
Position type/expected hours of work
This is a full-time position; hours of work and days are monday through friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
50% travel is expected for this position and will consist of coverage of the western states.
Lead by example: this team member will be asked to demonstrate independent initiative and drive to ensure that any/all requested support activities have been completed.
Trade school graduate or two-year associate degree in a mechanical and electrical, or mechanical technician programBs degree in engineering preferred
Five years (minimum) experience in troubleshooting electromechanical equipment
Must have working experience with material handling equipmentBoth controls and hands-on mechanical
Working experience troubleshooting plc’s and networks required
Five years of conveyor systems maintenance experience preferred
Assisting project and technical engineers in the integration of material handling systems
Strong electrical skills including wiring, ac power & power distribution, ac motors, electrical drawing and schematics, and controls panels
