Srns is seeking experienced process engineersThese engineers will report to the process controls & automation engineering (pc&ae) organization and work in the process control manufacturing support & engineering automation group working with the data management systems and automation engineering teams to develope and configure manufacturing automation software and hardwareThis group works with design authorities, quality, and operations to identify requirements and write and configure software for operationsThis is a greenfield project that allows the team to experience the full project life cycle from developing requirements, design/build, installation, startup/test, and maintenance.
These engineers will design, program, and install the industrial internet of things (iiot) automation systems, also called manufacturing 4.0., and will be responsible for the planning, design, procurement, installation, startup and testing, and maintenance of the iiot automation for various chemical and nuclear processes.
Duties will include developing software through coding, modifying software for error correction, testing and/or integrating new hardware, improving system performance, and upgrading interfaces to existing programmable logic controllers (plc) or distributed control systems (dcs)Also, engineers will interface with facility process equipment to provide machining programming and tool paths for various equipment.
The types of work/skills needed may include:
Develop, test and implement new automation systems to maintain and support facility operations.
Provide creative solutions to upgrade existing systems.
Experience with c# or java programming.
Experience working with a manufacturing execution system.
Experience working in a structured environment with standardized coding.
Experience troubleshooting plc hardware and software issues on production systems.
Working knowledge of ieee/isa standards.
Team player.

Scope technical tasks and develop creative solutions to assigned problemsBegin using srns systems and meeting srns requirements with minimal supervisory guidanceAccepts complex tasks and receives minimal guidance from senior professionalsIncorporate conventional engineering or scientific practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planningProvide limited guidance and direction to less senior engineering professionalsCarry out development and qualification programs on tasks concurrent with other phases such as design and fabrication to better evaluate and minimize future problemsDevelop alternate solutions to existing problemsPerform all detail work necessary to determine best solutionsEvaluate proposals and make recommendations based on proposed projects/tasks in area of assignmentMay delegate portions of the detail work to less senior personnelPrepare costs and schedule estimates on proposed projects/tasks in assigned areaDemonstrate cost and schedule consciousness through timely completion of assigned tasks and projectsPrepare manuals and other documents supporting or publicizing the technical effortDemonstrate creative ability through medium of patent disclosures, problem solving, engineering reports, technical papers and articles.

Note:
Salary offers are commensurate with candidate`s experience and applicable education in comparison to incumbents.
Basic education qualifications
Bachelor degree in applicable science or engineering discipline
Other required qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
Preferred qualifications
Master or phd degree in applicable science or engineering discipline
Preferred degrees/disciplines: instrumentation and controls engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, industrial process engineering, mechanical engineering with an interest in electrical, nuclear engineering.
Experience with industrial internet of things (iiot), also called manufacturing 4.0.
Experience with automation systems.
Experience with manufacturing execution system such as syncade, traksys, or solumina is a plus.
Emerson deltav, deltav sis, deltav virtualization experience is a plus.
Advanced knowledge of process instrumentation and network architecture.
Familiarity with petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or nuclear facility design operation, small project design, and ability to lead upgrade projects.
Understands and applies advanced knowledge of discipline`s standard theories, concepts, principles and techniques
