Scope of work
1Based in the sage india office, manage the entire production of select sage india titles from receipt
Of manuscript to supplying print-ready pdf to manufacturing as per sage’s quality standards.
2Maintain high quality communication and excellent relationships with authors, editors and reviewers.
3Local ambassador of sage’s editorial division and reflects sage’s values at all times.
4Employs good negotiation skills to achieve coordination across multiple departments.
5Resolve or escalate issues in a timely fashion—troubleshoot and display ability to deal with a variety of
Issues, some of which may be difficult or sensitive, and may need fast responses to
Complaints/suggestions or requests, with maturity and calmness.
Pe job functions and responsibility
1Produce select books (5,000 pages/14 books in a year) from receipt of transmittal through delivery.

3Expected to manage at least 1–2 fast tracks in a year in addition to regular projects, as well as work on
Sensitive and prestigious author/editor/institution projects.
4Liaise with other departments in sage/external agencies, i.e., indexers, vendors etc., to produce books
5Perform duties of a pe (listed below) as per workflow, process guidelines and timelines:
ASend a welcome email to authors/editors copying the commissioning team within 72 hours from
Project going live.
BWork with the commissioning editor(s)/production team for sample layout (where required).
CCreate schedule for projects assigned to you in coordination with lm/spm, copy-editing and
DPrepare project brief for mss to be used by the copy editor.
EPerform 10% pe review on the copyedited file, record and share feedback as per process.
FRaise copyediting queries to the author for resolution.
GExecute/oversee author query response incorporation.
HResponsible for cover checks of all your titles and secure the lm/spm’s approval on it.
IUpdate daily/weekly/monthly reports.
JSend ms for typesetting and coordinate with typesetting vendors for subsequent revisions
KAudit 1st proofs and respond to/take calls on proof reader’s queries/marks.
LSend 1st revised proofs to authors, review their responses and take calls before incorporation.
MCollate corrections from editors/authors, adhering to the book style and ensuring clear
Instructions are provided for the typesetter.
NCheck proof corrections made by typesetters and ensure all corrections are carried out.
OPerform final proof check, check print-ready files and take calls as appropriate.
PRaise indents and ensure books are dispatched to authors/editors as per the process.
QAssist with any of the above tasks for books pertaining to other pe (ape/pe) as advised by the
RCoordinate with lm/spm for blurbs for your projects and secure approvals as per the defined
SDeliver error-free work with minimal supervision and intervention from lm/spm.
TKeep production and scheduling related updates available for lm/spm/hod at all times.
