Full job description
Description: the safety manager will develop, implement, manage and maintain effective safety policies and procedures that meet the criteria for osha and industry compliance as well as corporate and government safety requirements.
Job duties & responsibilities
Implement policies, procedures, and programs on manufacturing and construction safety that comply with osha regulations.
Investigate reports on dangerous working conditions, identify root causes, and forward reports and recommendations to senior management for redress.
Conduct and report wc accident/injury investigations.
Conduct and report auto/dot accident/injury investigations.
Visit manufacturing and job sites to ensure implementation of the correct safety policies and procedures.
Organize training programs on safety measures in the workplace.
Travel with sales, dot drivers, service and installation teams for safety inspections.
Maintain osha logs.
Other projects as assigned by management.
Job skills and knowledge
Must have a broad knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations in our geographic footprint and be familiar with all relevant environmental laws
Working knowledge of osha compliance
Analytical and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to qualify as trainer for many safety features, i.eFall safety, forklift, etc.
Working knowledge of general human resources laws and practices
The safety manager must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of the position and demonstrate the following personal attributes:
