Reliable robotics is seeking to hire a full-time systems engineerAt reliable robotics, systems engineers are responsible for all aspects of the system design, validation, verification, and certificationAs a member of the team, you will deliver prototypes and certifiable flight systems in a dynamic start-up work environmentThis position can be filled remotely or based at our facility in mountain view, california.
Responsibilities
Define and communicate strategies and plans for faa certification
Define system architecture and assess trades regarding performance, complexity, risk, and effort
Capture system requirements and interfaces to drive avionics hardware and software development
Provide engineering expertise in the design, development and test of avionics systems
Perform analysis on the reliability and fault tolerance of aircraft systems
Support product development all the way through development up to production, test, and certification
Develop and manage system for aircraft automation systems
Basic qualification
Bachelor’s degree of science or engineering in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or related discipline
3+ years of system design, integration, or test of complex systems in a professional environment
Demonstrated self starter with the ability to solve problems from first principles
Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations
Preferred skills and experience
Advanced degree of science or engineering in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or related discipline
Experience in system architecture and developing, managing, and decomposing requirements
Experience working on commercial/military aircraft or spacecraft systems
Experience integrating and troubleshooting various electronic sensors and components
Creative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together with the ability to assess risk and make design and development decisions without all available data
Experience qualifying equipment to harsh environments (rtca/do-160, mil-std-461/810, …)
Experience certifying flight critical systems, hardware, and software via arp-4754a, do-254, and do-178c respectively
Proven track record of shipping products and completing projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail
Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time
The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000 to $182,000At reliable robotics, we strive to provide competitive and rewarding compensation based on experience and expertise, as well as market conditions, location, and pay equity.
