Department overview:
P&w material & process specifications are part of p&w’s engine product definition, establishing the engineering requirements used by procurement and quality & process engineeringThe creation and revision of specifications enable the purchasing and acceptance of materials used to manufacture engine parts and build engines.
Key responsibilities:
Manage the release of new and revised materials and processes specifications used for gas turbine engines.
Coordinate with the person requesting the new or revised specification to ensure that the specification content meets engineering intent, is clear and technically substantiated.
Gain consensus with engineering, quality and process engineering and other stakeholders to ensure that the proposed specification can be used to procure materials and processes meeting the proposed requirements.
Basic qualifications:
Bs degree in engineering
Us citizenship
Preferred qualifications:
Bs in engineering with material science or metallurgy concentration
Excellent technical writing skills
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with great accuracy
Clear, concise, and effective communication skills
Experience working with all levels of management
