The visual manager ensures brand standards are successfully achieved and maintained in a consistent, timely, and cost effective manner across all parachute retail locationsThey are responsible for all aspects of visual merchandising, creating directives and tools, concepting and executing window displays, developing a team of visual leads, and participating in the ongoing development of parachute’s physical retail presenceThey work cross-functionally with key departments including creative, marketing, and planning to achieve high-impact, cost effective solutionsThis position reports directly to the vp of retail.
What you’ll do:
Create a consistent, on-going merchandising calendar and directives for stores across all categories of businessDirectives to be time-dependent, universal in execution, and tied to product launch calendarAdapt directives as needed with specific callouts noted for stores that vary by overall classification, square footage, and inventory levelsDirectives to be formatted for upload/use on lessonly platform.
Define and maintain a clear vision of visual standardsDevelop new / refine existing tools to be used by store teams as requiredFormalize and format for upload/use on lessonly platform.
Identify, train and develop visual lead in each store able to consistently execute directives at local level with minimal supervisionProvide ongoing learning opportunities via in-person and remote follow-up.
Educate store teams on processes to accurately receive inventory, organize stock-room for optimum efficiency, restock the floor, and re-merchandise based on business needs.
Partner with planning to foster the merchant process for optimal sales with consideration of best sellers, seasonality, big buys and new collectionsCoordinate shipment allocations and deliveries cadence for optimal inventory levels.
Work with retail hq team to identify fixture needs and other store design elements to be sourced for all store locations / branded locationsPartner with cross-functional teams as required for optimal sourcing.
Work within established budgets to achieve design intent that is on-brand and at highest taste level possible.
Partner with the marketing team to identify quarterly in-store messaging, signage, and other elements as needed to align with company’s marketing calendarEstablish timeline and budget for execution.
Partner with the creative team to identify quarterly in-store props, decorative elements, and other collateral that align with company’s creative directionEstablish timeline and budget for execution.
Who you are:
Minimum of three years in retail management, retail design, prop styling, interior design or showroom management.
Strong merchandising and display experience requiredPortfolio requested.
Skills as a merchant, able to analyze data and translate to in-store visual presentations.
Experience hiring, training and leading a team (including remote) required.
Full-time opportunity, must be able to work 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays.
Experience using digital platforms in the creation of merchandising directives, planograms, etc.
Experience sourcing props, decorative elements, and fixtures is preferred.
Familiarity with graphic design standards is preferred.
Experience in – and a passion for – home interiors is preferred.
Motivated self-starter, confident leader with a solutions-minded focus.
Must thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up environment.
