Full job description
As a support engineer you will be joining the engineering team, currently our team builds and maintains a financial settlement system, a document/workflow system and an insurance policy management system among other tools and utilitiesThis position will be responsible for supporting the current applications as well as the ones that are being modernizedPosition will include maintaining, automating, deploying and monitoring of these systems across multiple environmentsThis role will help maintain and create various environments in aws to support in the overall sdlc of the various applications, with heavy emphasis in moving completely towards infrastructure as code
Required skills
5+ years of application support experience
Experience with microsoft stack (c#)
Strong experience scripting and automating back-end processes; node or powershell
Ability to write structured query language (sql) against various databases, to pull and/or modification of data
Prior experience using git and github actions
Prior experience in monitoring applications like data dog, new relic, grafana including setup of dashboards
Experience in application performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning
Automation experience using devops concepts
Additional skills
Bachelor`s degree in information science / information technology, data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field
Experience in postgres, redis, or similar technologies
Prior experience migrating solutions in aw
Experience working with aws lambda functions
Experience with aws cloud service and understanding of virtualization
What you will do as a support engineer
Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle, including planning, requirements, development, testing, automation, and quality assurance.
With engineering’s assistance merge cross-feature branches as part of deployment process.
Own deployment process for multiple applications in multiple environments including several legacy applications.
Work with current infrastructure team to setup additional environments in aws.
Ability to automate business tasks using any scripting language as a bridge towards modernization of existing legacy applications.
Lead & schedule all deployments in production environment and track ongoing platform updates and application related maintenance tasks and issuesCommunicating changes effectively to end users.
Maintain and own application ci/cd processes including git and current deployment processes.
Be the liaison with third party infrastructure team and the conduit for system related escalations.
Assist engineering team to identify system performance, areas of potential improvements.
Pager duty for emergency support issues.
