Associate director – emergency behavioral health for martha’s vineyard community services
**this is a hybrid position with some flexibility for remote workRelocation assistance is also available.
Abou t martha’s vineyard community services martha’s vineyard community services (mvcs) got its start in 1961 and has evolved over the past 60 years to provide an array of mental health services to meet the needs of the island community through the unwavering dedication of its staff as well as donors and volunteersNow, as part of a bold new initiative to more fully develop martha’s vineyard services island counseling center (icc) the icc is currently seeking an associate director, emergency behavioral health, to join their team.
Reporting directly to the senior director, the associate director will assume full responsibility for the island intervention center which encompasses enhanced urgent care and the organization’s 24-7 emergency services programsThe associate director of emergency behavioral health will be responsible for managing the icc’s program director and the lead clinical supervisor as well as approximately 4 to 6 indirect reports.

Associate director – emergency behavioral health key responsibilities
Serve as lead point person with martha’s vineyard hospital, martha’s vineyard public schools, the five island police departments, and other community organizations
Build a cohesive and responsive emergency intervention team and cultivate a strong culture of service
Join with management, leadership, and quality management teams to ensure all contract and payor accountabilities are fulfilled
Ensure island intervention center’s relationships with families and other community stakeholders are characterized by trust, communication, accountability, quality, and effective response
Execution of service model, with the highest clinical and operational standards
Ensure that mvcs supervision standards and procedures are maintained
Identify and manage legal and ethical processes
Maintain and model best practice clinical care in clinical practice, supervision, and operations
Associate director – emergency behavioral health qualifications and skills
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field
Maintain license in good standing
Minimum 5 years post license clinical expertise in working with adults, children, families, with focus on emergency services
Strong supervisory, organizational, and planning skills
Demonstrate a working knowledge of information systems, data base management, and processes for data collection and analysis
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to give constructive feedback to clinicians, to understand performance specifications for specific contracts, and ability to communicate with external contract managers
Possess the ability to work effectively with persons who have diverse styles, abilities, motivations, and backgrounds
