Key job responsibilities
Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductionsEnsure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay ratesResponsible for developing and communicating team or department vision and goals build and monitor a consolidated payroll operations annual operating plan to forecast headcount needs with detailed analysis of budget to actual results on a monthly and quarterly basis partner with external stakeholders hr, hrs, accounting, treasury (external to the payroll department) responsible to develop and implement systems to support rapid growth performs autonomously and initiate and manages complex, departmental and/or cross- company work lead performance review processes with vps, directors and senior leaders across functions in the region manage group workload and establishing priorities ensure existing policies and procedures are followed and draft new policies around various functional areas manage annual performance, targets; create and monitor appropriate performance metrics succession planning and resource planning coach first time people managers prior working experience of the labour law and payroll compliances such as income tax, professional tax, provident fund, esic, lwf etcHaving managed payroll of 500-700 people and able to keep pace with scaling employee liaising and communication, solving queries or issues raised by the employees prior experience of handling team of 3-5 people preferred payroll ownership and empathy towards the employeeOversee the employee onboarding process and confidentiality of the employee’s personal data and documents
Experience and qualification
Qualified chartered accountant or mba in finance/hr 3-5 years of experience knowledge of compliance and taxation good communication skills prior experience in a start-up or a technology-based company preferred
