Federal sales manager, dod/doj
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic federal sales manager, dod/doj to join the sales teamThis position will be a remote position supporting the vp, business development and salesThe federal sales manager will be required to develop octasic’s ability to identify, quantify, qualify and maximize octasic’s sales opportunities and addressing customer needs in the federal market w/ focus specifically on the department of defense (dod), department of justice (doj) and the intelligence community (ic)This role will be developing and executing a capture strategy for federal market with focus on the dod, doj and ic sales to meet/exceed an annual operations plan (aop)This role will support the sales of octastic’s search & rescue technologies and solutionsYou will engage internal resources and stakeholders including marketing, partners and octasic`s technical teams to meet required objectivesThe federal sales manager, dod/doj is responsible for and measured against the revenue generated in addition to performance in motivating and inspiring a cross-functional team of employees to achieve a defined set of short and long-term objectives.
Since you will be the front-line representative to the dod, doj and ic for our products this position requires excellent written and oral communications skillsYou will need to enjoy technical development as well as being able to work with a broad range of people on solving complex problems.
Main responsibilities:
Build and execute long range business plan for federal dod/doj market.
Enable sales orders by identifying effective routes to market and positioning octastic’s deliverables to align with customer requirements.
Understand, articulate, and position octastic’s search and rescue solutions both internally and externally.
Demonstrate a strong appreciation of market trends and drivers, reflecting the customer’s, and the larger market’s current and future needs.
Influence parties as needed to remove obstacles to sales and secure profitable business.
Incubate and cultivate senior level relationships with key customers, partners within the federal market
Coordinate with operations / logistics team to oversee product field tests in cooperation with channel partners and technical consultants
Support mandatory compliance to canadian export regulations for products sold in us territory.
Other tasks as needed.
Use market and technical knowledge to recommend product and documentation improvements
Travel to tradeshows and customer sites to promote products and services
Work closely with product line management (plm) and engineering to improve products and offerings
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of sales experience (in a long sales cycle market).
Excellent written and verbal communication in english.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills as required to effectively interact with internal stakeholders, sales prospects, and customers.
Past performance demonstrating the ability to operate independently, as required.
Extensive travel throughout us territory is required (~50%).
Demonstration of good working knowledge of microsoft outlook, word, excel, and powerpoint applications.
Experienced in the effective use of customer relationship management systems (crm).
