Northrop grumman mission systems is seeking a senior principal mechanical engineer to join our structures analysis team within the hardware engineering organizationOur work includes, but is not limited to airborne multifunctional sensors such as active electronically scanned array (aesa) radars:

The position is located in linthicum, maryland.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
Performing structural analysis on aerospace, shipboard, ground based, and space radar systems and structures.
Loads development, stress analysis (static and fatigue), and vibration analysis of metallic and composite structures.
Performing classical structural analysis, as well as, finite element analysis is essentialUtilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills are important for clear communication of results through reports and presentations.
Collaborate in a team environment, mentor less experienced personnel, prioritize and organize tasks to support program milestones.
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor of science in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering or related technical field
Typical minimum structural analysis experience / education: 7 years with bachelors of science; 5 years with masters
Experience with classical structural and finite element analysis
Software experience: finite element analysis (fea), and microsoft office applications
Experience developing finite element models (fem) from cad geometry
U.sCitizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a dod secret clearance per business requirements
Preferred qualifications:
Advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering or a related field.
Active secret/top secret/sci clearance.
Software experience: nx.cae (simcenter 3d) / nx.nastran, ansys mechanical, or msc patran
Experience with dod and/or faa program structural load environmental requirements.

Salary range: $108,900 usd - $163,300 usd
