Maintain a clear understanding of applicable building codes and opportunities for automated design tools that creates more efficient structures.
Execute all necessary design optimization proposals on time and in accordance with client expectationsThese may include structural drawings, calculations, cost estimates, etc.
Collaborate with other design solutions, project solutions and customer experience teams to ensure seamless transfer of proposals to delivery.
Assist in the development of case studies highlighting the value design-make-build can have if applied correctly
Mentor and train future project optimization engineers as the team grows
Teach others within mitek of the processes and optimization tools being implemented so that they can evaluate if the tools will have benefit to other parts of the organization.
Assist in the creation internal processes that uses advanced design tools to expedite project optimization of the targeted midrise, wood, multi-dwelling market.
Produce and maintain clear process and protocol documents to assist in future development of new optimization engineers
Validate new design tools by utilizing prototypes as part of the optimization process.
Provide overview and maintenance recommendations for advancing our tools once early prototypes are created
Education and/or experience:
Bachelor`s degree from an accredited college or university in civil, structural or architectural engineering
Excellent understanding of statics, dynamics, structural load path and wood design
(4) or more years of experience in structural engineering
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret applicable us and international building codes, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical publications, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as calculus, algebraic formulas, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
Computer skills: to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of microsoft windows and office and proficient skills in word and excel, as well as various structural engineering software platforms to analyze building structuresCertificates, licenses, registrations:
Licensed as a professional engineer is required (california is preferred)
Licensed as a structural engineer is preferred
