1Job overview:
Responsible for people management, team development and meeting project deliverables at every milestone/phase of the project for a specific carline adopting standard engineering and company operating systems and all associated qms procedures and policies.
0Principle accountability
Accountable for the team involved in product design and development activities
Responsible for project and resource-planning
Responsible for quality, cost, time
Follow the daimler engineering processes defined in mds
Responsible for creating local synergies (with simulation, manufacturing etc.) in closed loop
Responsible for aligning work with respect to the department strategy
Responsible for business agreement
Responsible for adherence to budget targets of respective teams.
Ensure kpi of the team are monitored, tracked and targets achieved
Ensure qms standards are followed, tracked and monitored on regular basis.
Ensure timely escalations, if any through proper channel
Drive innovation and continuous improvement activities within the team
Conduct performance appraisals of the team members, seek feedback from project leader and provide timely feedback
Improve the competency of engineering team members
Measure & ensure customer satisfaction, quality, cost and delivery.
Drive efficiency improvement
Responsible for people development, coaching and mentoring
Responsible for team engagement and motivation
Manage conflicts
Partner engagement
0Pre-development - core skills
Knowledge of biw new concept development in the area of z1, z2 & z3.
Component & vehicle level benchmarking of competitors.
Well-versed with various mercedes benz car architectures, eva (electric vehicle architectures) would be added advantage.
Knowledge of biw optimization for performance requirements (durability, crash, occupant safety, nvh, manufacturing feasibility.etc...)

Domain specific experience within the automotive industry
Working experience in product development process and exposure to program launches.
Well versed with mercedes development process.
Experience in project and people management.
Strategic planning and execution
Budget management and forecasting
Good knowledge on product design and manufacturing process of stampings, injection moldings & die casting.
Knowledge on sheet metal part design, plastic part design.
Expertise in use of design tools like fmea, dvp etc.
Problem solving skills and tools like dmaic, 8d etc.
Awareness of qms standards – iso 9000/ts-16949 requirements
Knowledge of cad tools ug-nx preferred
German language preferred
