Please note: we are looking for someone with government relations expertise at the federal level, preferably someone who has 3+ years working in dc even if they are now in another locationThis position is based in the nyc/princeton area as it will require a minimum of two days in the princeton officeThe other days of the week can be from a remote location.
This newly created role is a great opportunity for a strong marketer, with keen insight and planning expertise, as well as strong writing and communication skills.
The role will include oversight over all marketing for the government relations and public policy team, from planning through content delivery and optimization of campaignsThe person in this role will own insightful planning, drive calendar, drafting of briefs and key messages, and deployment briefs for the government relations team for all policy marketing initiatives.
Learning ally`s government relations team has successfully accomplished a lot of behind-the-scenes work to help improve the lives of struggling readers and teacher developmentHowever, in order to increase support in accomplishing our mission, we are seeking a marketing manager to help bring awareness to the life-changing work we are doingAdditionally, this manager will take an active role in educating our stakeholders about science-based practices and literacy injustices.
They will work cross-functionally with different learning ally departments, including but not limited to, the marketing team to create the content for assets and campaignsThey will manage and collaborate on projects with our pr firm to ensure alignment of internal and external strategy and messagingThe government relations marketing manager will be analytics driven, assessing marketing performance, and optimizing work on an ongoing basis.
Ideal candidates will have prior on-the-record media experience, excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work effectively alongside marketing directors and government relations staff to execute a successful communications effort both locally and nationally.
To develop, manage and organize communications activities, including writing press releases, talking points, organizing local press events, updating the official website, coordinating with reporters, executing social media posts and coordinating tele-town hallsThe press secretary will act as a formal spokesperson and media liaison for all local media.
The ability to design and deploy social media campaigns
At least two to five years of communications experience implementing progressive messaging strategies through national media relationships.
Knowledge of the legislative process and previous experience in a legislative office is a plus.
Work cross functionally to drive marketing and messaging in key target states.
Understand a variety of stakeholders` concerns and initiatives and deliver messaging that specifically addresses their circumstances by cohort
Responsible for planning of all government relations campaigns across channels, with projections by channel to meet stated campaign objectives, including open rates, ctrs, and leads
Development of content for campaigns across channels including emails, social posts, white papers, blogs, etc.
Develops events to create a learning ally immersive experience for prospects and current customers
Manages relationships with key stakeholders and coordinates with them to inform planning, review campaign results, and ensure alignment to meet goals and objectives
Coordinates with marketing operations team to deploy campaigns, deliver reports and analysis and optimization ongoing
Responsible for planning and implementing grassroots marketing campaigns based on state policy making initiatives
Strategically works to build a coalition of stakeholders, including educational experts, government workers, and business leaders, through strategic marketing campaigns to drive change.
5-7+ years of marketing experience, ideally in the legislative space
Proven track-record of insightful marketing and strategic planning - identifying customer pain points, developing creative briefs for multiple personas and evaluating messaging that drives lead generation
Prior experience understanding the different attitudes, needs, and beliefs for admins/buyers and influencers/teachers to drive interest
Experience managing acquisitions programsUse of analytics to evaluate customer behavior, expertise in a/b testing, and optimizations.
Experience collaborating with sales teams and leading cross-functional teams
Proven ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven work environment, where multitasking while maintaining quality and attention to detail are the norm
Strong analytical and quantitative skills including the ability to use hard data, and metrics to back up intuition and assess the efficacy of marketing programs.
