Full job description
This is a limited-term, part-time position that is expected to last at least one year.
This position will work independently on administrative support functions with the recruiting team and will require consistency, detail orientation, efficiency, and time management.
Specifically, this position:
Ensures each job posting is closed effectively and timely, engaging with the hiring manager to ensure candidate communication and completion of administrative activities to complete the job postingIncludes ensuring hard copy records are accurate and prepared for storage.
Monitors and facilitates the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring the candidate completes all assigned requirements in a timely manner, engages with the candidate, hiring manager, and the staff assigned the onboarding responsibility in the department/office.
Regularly monitors the county’s background check portal to track and manage the status of candidate background checksNotifies the recruiting team as background processes are complete, and engages with the background company for any pending or delayed checksEnsures the candidates’ background checks are completed in a timely manner and assists in moving the candidate to the next step in the selection/hiring process.
Monitors open requisitions, and actively manages candidates in the requisition, moving qualified candidates to the hiring manager review process, and ensuring candidates not qualified for the job are appropriately notified.
Responds to candidate emails and phone calls requesting status of their application.
Posts jobs to external advertising sites after the job is posted on the careers page.

The ideal candidate will:
Use general office practices and procedures.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Have strong customer service skills.
Read and comprehend department and county rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Use routine software and business application including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
Perform duties independently without close supervision.
Have strong communication skills.
Have strong organizational skills.
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualificationsAny candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
Two (2) years of experience in a directly related field, or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
High school diploma or ged required.

The typical schedule for this position is 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day, monday through fridayRemote work for 16 hours of the week, one day in the office.
