Full job description
The environmental risk team`s purpose is to identify and avoid unacceptable environmental risks and conditions associated with real estate collateral
The incumbent will administer policies, standards, guidelines and procedures with the goal of communicating environmental risks
The incumbent will interact with internal bank personnel involved with real estate lending transactions as well as approved external vendors providing services
Essential job functions
Procure and review government records reports, historical records reports, and phase i reports in connection with commercial real estate loan applications on a day-to-day basis
Research prior loan transactions to identify prior environmental reports and reviews in connection with transactions previously reviewed by erm typically in connection with loan renewal or refinance transactions
Prepare review memoranda which includes relevant information, analysis and management recommendations
With demonstrated proficiency, review more complex environmental reports (e.gPhase environmental site assessments) and prepare review memoranda which incorporate current and past information from multiple environmental reports
Perform special projects and assignments as directed, including working with teams assigned to larger initiatives
As a senior team member, in addition to having independent ownership, the incumbent will train, coach and mentor junior team members.
Good academic record
Strong analytical skills and keen attention-to-detail
Deadline oriented, organized, and responsible
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Strong communication skills - oral and written
Proficient in the use of ms power point, excel and word, internet research tools & techniques
Familiarity with general principles of commercial real estate lending is a strong positive
Knowledge of (and education in) environmental sciences is a big plus
Experience in training and mentoring juniors is required
