Under the direction of a manager, the lead business analyst, pharmacy bi is a member of the pharmacy performance analytics (ppa) team supporting clients who purchase inmar’s pharmacy performance analytics product.
As a lead business analyst, you understand both the technology and pharmacy supply chain business side of the organizationYour deep knowledge of both areas allows you to be a trusted partner for various team members and cross-functional teamsThe lead business analyst can link data to actionable business insights and will be a subject matter expert for pharmacy analytics products/services for internal and external customersPrimary accountabilities: operational:
Participate in client-related meetings as needed and provide analysis assistance to account management in preparing business reviews.
Participate as a member of cross-functional groups that includes data analysts, data engineers, software engineers, and business leaders.
Provide teams and individual stakeholders with actionable insights based on data to support decision making efforts.
Manage and complete time-sensitive custom research requests for assigned clients (external or internal) or partners.
Contribute to research and analysis across pharmacy financial management.
Analytical:
Analyzes and reports data to support decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning and specific business performance issues.
Ability to explain variances and trends within complex data sets.
Identify opportunities to improve data structure that may lead to better business processes.
Work with a variety of data sources to extract insights and actionable information.
Utilize data analytics tools and skills to provide high-quality data analysis and support to clients, internal stakeholders and other business partners.
Leadership:
Help develop new and innovative business solutions, strategies and business models.
Handle high complex, unique customer needs.
Serve as a mentor to develop, train and coach other pharmacy business analysts.
Required qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, business, information technology, computer science, health care administration, or related field.
Master’s degree or higher and advanced certification in related fields is preferred
Minimum 8+ years work experience with a pharmacy provider, pharmacy benefits manager, managed care organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience required to complete the essential functions/job responsibilities of the position
Strong working knowledge of pbm pharmacy contracts
Advanced excel skills
Familiar with relational databases
Propensity for learning and ability to work independently and coach others
Excellent written, oral & presentation communication skills
Prior knowledge and experience with bi software tools (e.g., looker, tableau etc)
Advanced data analysis skills and experiences with data visualization techniques
