The division of undergraduate education (due) serves as the catalyst for enhancing the quality of the undergraduate student experience while promoting on-time graduation for all undergraduate students at iupuiThree units report up to the division: university college, honors college and the institute for engaged learning.
The office of student employment`s mission is to support the division of undergraduate education by empowering students to pursue and to succeed in meaningful, academically relevant college work experiences that enhance both academic and professional growthThe offices serves all enrolled undergraduate students, supports on-campus supervisors and works to build employment pipelines to indianapolis employersThrough many programs and initiatives, student employment is a strong retention and engagement tool strongly valued in the iupui experience.
As part of the division of undergraduate education, university college and the office of student employment (ose), this position will manage the use of reporting technology, publications and other means of information dissemination to support the success of students as it pertains to student employmentThis role coordinates all technology-related programs and services for the office of student employmentThis position provides leadership and coordination for all assessment activities and generate all reports that demonstrate the impact of students work experiences to learning and retention connections, the number of iupui students working for on-campus employers, and showcase the impact of student employment experiences on iupui studentsAdditionally, this position works with two large scale ose program initiatives that aim to provide academic and high impact work experiences for studentsFrom budget oversight, marketing, training and orienting site supervisors, to assessment of program success, this role has complete project management responsibility for these initiativesOversight of marketing, website structure and social media presence through the supervision and training of student interns is a focus of this position.
Assists with professional and career development of students and alumni through career assessments, exploration, decision-making, goal setting, and planningFocuses efforts on resume building, interview skill development, mock interview, and job search preparation and navigation; graduate school application and interview preparation through counseling appointments and consultations.
Develops and delivers workshops on career development which include networking strategies, interviewing, resume and cover letter writing skills, portfolio development, and using the internet for career search.
Supports faculty and students with career exploration, internships, job shadow experiences, presentations, and facilitation of resources available for career development.
Serves on various community and institutional committees to build partnerships across the university and among comparable universities to build knowledge base.
Assists in the process of collecting and tracking data for office assessment purposesUtilizes data to assist in the creation of office objectives and goals to meet the needs of the student population.
Works through issues with a variety of stakeholders: students, employers, alumni, and facultyIdentifies and capitalizes on connections between groups of stakeholders and leverage those connections in unique ways through events and interactions
May provide guidance and delegate administrative tasks to other career services staff.
May make process recommendations for improved operational efficiency.
Bachelor`s degree in business or a related field
Master`s degree in a related field
2 years in career consulting or a related field
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
