Perform engineering activities that include: training programs, new product introduction, existing product/process improvements and new equipment introductionInspire a high level of productivity, accuracy, morale, and motivation in your team.
Coordinate with the corporate equipment team on maintenance and engineering issuesThis will include supporting corporate sponsored initiatives by providing feedback and supplying data on site activities.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
New product introduction - responsible for leading, documenting, controlling all applicable processesThis includes prototypes, samples and engineering models of new or revised product as required based on needs of sites, sales, and marketingThe scope includes oberthur’s new products, internal designs or changes to existing products.
New equipment acceptance – r1, r2, r3Engineering is responsible for leading, documenting, controlling all applicable processesThis includes the purchase, installation and set up of equipment/machines to improve and add capability to the production processThe scope includes oberthur new/used machine/equipment purchases, acquisitions, internal designs, or significant modifications to existing equipment onlyTechnical services will install additional equipment once one or more similar units are already present on site, unless there are major changes to the platform.
Implement, install and manage equipment enhancements/improvements: these include microprocessor, plc and pc based products along with ability to fabricate complete add-ons/interfaces including pcbs, switches, electronics, etc.
Fabricate prototypes and samples with or without drawings for oberthur and our customers through sales / marketingDrawing support (cad) may be required.
Provide production technical support for the more difficult production equipment problems as needed and within the capacity of any member of the engineering teamAdditional oem support may be required depending on the problem(s).
Coordinate with equipment manufacturers (datacard, pitney bowes, kern, etc.)Prepare quotations for new equipment purchases from manufacturer and provide swot analysis on any new purchase.
Other duties as designated by management that are relevant, realistic and within reasonable capacity of any member of the engineering team.
Qualifications: essential education, skills and environment education and work experience bachelor’s degree in engineering or 7 or more years experience in an engineering or technical engineering field
Specialized knowledge and skills equipment maintenance, electrical/mechanical engineering ability to read, comprehend, and analyze engineering diagrams.
Equipment and applications this individual must have knowledge and experience working with microsoft office suite
