Objective :
The agri-business incubator (abi) & bioncube is committed to nurturing viable agribusinesses to succeed by promoting progressive and enterprising entrepreneurs with effective management, agri-technology support, business planning, feasibility studies and networking & mentoring though incubation servicesThe senior manager shall administer the abi and bioncube operations on a daily basis and scaling up its operations through internationalization.
Responsibilities:
Strategic planning, networking, promotion & marketing, domestic & international development of abi program & bioncube, scale-up, revenue generation, program replication, internationalization, liaise with international donors.
Overall administration of abi & bioncube and integration with aip-icrisat
Review and formulate pre-incubation activities, incubation services, and post-incubation support that ensures abi-icrisat offers top-notch service to start-up incubatees
Proactively meet the needs of the incubatees, and assist them with technology validation, business development, mentoring, and funding among other services
Help with go-to-market strategy and assist with fundraising for the incubatees through abi-icrisat seed fund, hnis network, and angel investors/vcs
Plan and execute workshops/events/webinars/expos to promote incubation services, incubatees and generate a pipeline of new incubatees and partners
Preparation of business plan every five year in sync with icrisat strategic plan and submission to icrisat management for implementation
Analyze operations & financial performance in accordance with the business plan
Develop mechanisms of working with icrisat scientist on ppp mode to enhance the outcomes of icrisat
Internationalization of abi & bioncube as a scale-up strategy to enhance its operation in the global arena
Development and leading of international networks of agribusiness incubators
Liaise with the international donors for establishment of agribusiness incubators in the developing countries of the world
International marketing of incubator for scaling up its operations and for providing softlanding support services to global agribusiness entrepreneurs
Generate resources through conventional and innovative programs and adopt new revenue generation mechanisms
Liaise with the coos of other program of aip in enhancing the operations of aip for enhanced impact
Competencies:
Prior experience in running an agribusiness incubator will be added advantage
Good writing & communication skills (english - written and spoken) and networking skills experience working in a multicultural team will be preferred
Willing to travel to the work locations
Educational qualification & experience: b.sc (agriculture/ horticulture/ other agricultural sciences) with mba and min 12-15 years of experience in related fields.
