The clinical programs pharmacy technician 2 integrates programs developed to improve overall health outcomes with a focus on prescription drugsThe clinical programs pharmacy technician 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignmentsPerforms computationsTypically works on semi-routine assignments.
The clinical programs pharmacy technician 2 oversees medication therapy, strategy on comprehensive medication reviews, and prescription drug optimization in cases where patients are taking multiple medicationsDrives health awareness with patients through rx education and targeted quarterly campaignsPlaces outbound calls to confirm patients are taking drugs and provides counselingDecisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignmentsWorks within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal directionFollows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.
Pharmacy technician degree from an accredited school or university/college
Licensed and registered as a pharmacy technician in puerto rico
At least two years of experience performing interventions with patients on a retail or specialty pharmacy
Patient education skills
Drug utilization review and evaluation skills
Customer service skills
Self-starter and able to work under minimum supervision
Able to meet deadlines, with tight schedules and multiple priorities
Basic knowledge of pharmacy claims processing
Proven ability to keep closely attuned to the needs and perspectives of customers
Self-directed, but also a team player who is able to work well in a group
Remote requirements: must have the ability to provide a high speed dsl or cable modem for a home office (satellite and wireless internet service is not allowed for this role)A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is requiredA dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member phi / hipaa information

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in spanish (fluent) and english (basic/intermediate)Candidate selected will not be communicating in english with members.
Prior experience in managed care
Knowledge of medical terminology
Experience in microsoft office (word, excel and powerpoint) and ability to learn new computer software tools
Ability to identify problems root cause, provide recommendations and encourage others in collaborative problem solving
Ability to use web-based technology, computer software/systems and the necessary productivity tools to accomplish individual and team objectives
Address: work at home from puerto rico only
Training: 4 weeks; virtual
Schedule: 8 hrShift between the hours of 9:00 am - 6:00 pm monday through friday.
