Huma is dedicated to the development and implementation of novel analytical image processing methods applicable for oncology studiesDespite the emergence of computer-assisted diagnosis ecosystems alongside advances in 3-dimensional microscopy imaging, existing approaches fail to take full advantage of the vast amounts of other data available in modern clinical practiceWe are looking for an awesome biomedical imaging scientist to join our ai team and technically lead projects within huma.
By joining huma in this role, you will manage a challenging and novel program of work, liaise closely with external stakeholders and support our ai researchers to build groundbreaking personalised medicine.
This role can be based in the uk (london or remote), italy (remote) or germany (remote).
Your mission
Build quantitative models at the intersection of radiomics and machine learning for cancer research
Assist in monitoring data quality issues and collaborate with the different stakeholders to develop automated systems and tools to process, curate and verify data integrity
Communicate the relevant quantitative and radiomics imaging features with clinical team and assist the biological and diagnostic interpretation of the observed patterns in the study cohort
Ensure that traceability and reproducibility is central to all data and machine learning pipeline development
Collaborate with engineers to integrate algorithms efficiently with backend production services and monitor them after launch
Improve and help define the ai team’s processes and toolingperform high quality validation and analysis
From day one in this role we’ll expect you to have
A phd in computer science, machine learning, neuroscience, mathematics or a similar technical field
5+ years experience in medical imaging or computer vision ml (k-means, knn, decision trees, svm, bayesian/graphical models, gaussian process, etc.)
Deep learning (cnn, rnn, attention/memory, lstm, resnet, etc.)
Proficiency in programming – good command of python (or c++), git and linux
Experience with recent machine learning libraries i.ePytorch, monai and/or tensorflow
Interest and ability to translate research into reproducible and validated imaging pipelines
Excellent ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and to communicate data in a clear, concise manner
It’s great, but not required, if you have
Clinical knowledge of anatomy and oncology
Success developing methods in ct with application to oncology
A strong understanding of regulatory and compliance for software as a medical device
Experience working with imaging formats such as dicom and nifti
Experience developing, validating and deploying machine learning models in a commercial setting
Experience working with cloud environments such as azure, gcp and aws
Proven ability to publish in high impact journals
