Join a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex systems for space within honeywell aerospaceAs the senior satellite thermal/structural engineer, you will be leading the team tasked with ensuring the satellite’s attitude orbit and control system (aocs) system meets the mission requirementsThe aocs consists of vehicle sensors (e.g., star trackers, sun sensors, rate gyros, magnetometers, gps, etc.) on-board computers, actuators (e.g., reaction wheel assemblies, torque rods, etc.).
Job activities
Complete thermal models aocss
Perform thermal analyses to ensure temperatures of all components stay within their safe operating range
Complete a structural models of the aocss
Perform modal, acoustic, random, and sine analyses
Perform mechanical worst-case structural and thermal analyses for aocss
Documenting thermal and structural analyses and submit as customer deliverable item
Present technical information to the customer during tims, pdrs, and cdrs

You must have
Bachelor of science in mechanical engineering
5 - 7 years’ experience practicing mechanical engineering in the space industry
We value
Experience with both thermal and structural analysis
Experience performing worst case mechanical analysis
Experience with star trackers, sun sensors, rate gyros, magnetometers, gps on-board computers, reaction wheel assemblies, and torque rods
Experience at the satellite level
Energetic, self-motivated and highly organized with team skills
Passion to develop solutions and trouble shoot problems
Teamcenter or similar pdm experience
