About the role
We’re looking for a project manager of process optimization to support the process optimization team in identifying opportunities to streamline work, reduce waste, improve productivity and increase profitability of gap incStores across north americaLeads retail operations optimization initiatives from proof of concept to scale utilizing engineering best practices with a concentration on process improvementResponsibilities include problem identification, viable solution ideation, requirement development and solution implementationEngineers the methods of retail operations to achieve high employee engagement with standardization, productivity, quality and efficiencyWorks collaboratively across multiple other areas of the company to ensure successful project completion.
What you`ll do
Analyze operational processes and standards, identify best practices and benchmark areas for improvement to balance cost, service and productivity; own the implementation of proposed changes to achieve desired results.
Spend time with field leaders, in stores, to understand their needs and pain points in order to identify solutions that simplify workload.
Create the conditions for consistent and efficient execution of operational brand standards in stores.
Conduct time/motion studies and support continuous improvement of engineered labor standards for cross-brand store operations processes.
Act as project manager and subject matter expert for all related work.
Influence key business partners and represent the needs of stores and their customers in all interactions.
Who you are
3-5 years industrial/process engineering experience; 1-3 years retail store/operations experience preferred.
Experience with time and motion standards systems (most), six sigma or lean practices.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in microsoft office and workflow management applications.
Problem solving – articulates successful response to challenging situations utilizing available data and knowledge while considering alternative solutions.
Customer impact – identifies opportunities within the store environment and offers solutions to improve the overall employee and customer experience.
Detail orientated – demonstrates attention to detail in the creation of processes and monitors implementation to ensure proper execution.
Time management – demonstrates ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, to prioritize and adapt appropriately.
