Reporting to ge digital’s global tax operations leader, the tax specialist will be responsible for ge digital’s tax accounting, reporting, forecasting and tax compliance processes.
Tax accounting, reporting, and forecastingThe overall responsibility of ge digital’s tax operations team is to ensure that the quarterly and annual financial statements reporting of accounting for income taxes under us gaap are complete and accurateThe tax specialist’s responsibilities include:
Supporting the tax quarterly close and consolidation processes including tax provision, information requests, disclosures, and documentationPreparation of the us tax account reconciliations as well as providing support to the quarterly and annual tax account reconciliation process ensuring proper documentation is maintained to support deferred tax balances and taxes payable/receivableMonitoring of the global deferred tax assets for realization and support positions taken with respect to valuation allowances against such assetsManaging quarterly internal control procedures for accounting for income taxes and coordinate with internal and attest auditors for internal controls testingPartnering closely with tax and non-tax teams to ensure that they understand the impacts of tax accounting on their business tax objectivesWorking with fp&a and treasury to forecast quarterly and annual effective tax rates and cash tax outflowsServing as a subject matter expert on accounting for income taxes to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and procedures.
Tax complianceThe overall responsibility of ge digital’s tax operations team is to ensure that all us and non us local tax returns (e.gCit, vat/gst/s&u tax, withholding taxes) are prepared and filed in timeThe tax specialist’s responsibilities include:
Providing support for the preparation of ge digital’s us tax returns as well as working with external providers and ge coes to ensure that all information is provided and tax returns are filed in timeProviding support during tax auditsPreparation of foreign tax payer returns in india.
A qualified chartered accountant with minimum of 2 to 3 years of tax experience with a large publicly traded multinational company in a pan regional role and/or big 4 accounting firm with a focus on tax accounting and reporting.
Proficient in us gaap tax accounting standardsDemonstrated knowledge and expertise in audit- and tax (accounting/compliance) processesAbility to develop, implement, and sustain `best practice” and “lean” processes to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy in accounting and compliance processesKnowledge of indian tax laws, rules and regulations and exposure to various us and non-us, state and local tax laws, rules, and regulationsAbility to work with finance reporting software (e.gHyperion) or (tax technology) software such as oracle/sabrix would be desirableStrong analytical , detail oriented, independent thinking, and decision-making abilitiesProficient in microsoft office (e.g., excel, word, powerpoint)Adaptable/flexible: open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or ability to work in ambiguous situationsAbility to prioritize, multi-task, perform in a dynamic environment, hands on and respond quicklyStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills [english]Ability to thrive in an environment where coordination and teamwork is a priorityWillingness to learn quickly and consistently to both achieve excellent results and to grow their own capabilitiesIntegrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others
