Full job description
Futuristic labs is exactly what it sounds like - a place to `dream` and `build` futuristic productsA research and product development studio with an enthusiastic team working towards building innovative consumer products to create a future with superior and healthier lifestyle.
At the moment we are set out to solve home cooking.to achieve this,we have riku, our flagship product, which is a fully automatic, ai assisted rice and curry maker.other products in this ecosystem are : semi - a smart induction cooktop,a digital kitchen app and a recipe platformThe perfect blend of hardware and software.
So if you love good home cooked food and are excited to build an automated solution for the entire cooking process, then this is the place for you!
Are you an accomplished mechanical engineer who has designed, prototyped and commercialized active mechanical & electro-mechanical aspects of consumer facing machines/appliances? we’d love to talk.
What you’ll do:
Own: take systems or subsystems from concept to prototypes through design, test, and launchWork with cross-functional leaders and teams to get there.
Define: work with our product owners to identify problem statements and product requirements.
Design: use 3d modeling software to develop detailed part & assembly designs.
Review/feedback: thoughtfully consider the mechanical designs of peers so that you can provide design, manufacturing, technical feedback both through periodic design reviews and consistent informal communication.
Evaluate: design and perform dfm/fea to validate your designs.
Analyze: analyze multiple manufacturing techniques to determine the best strategy for the defined part in terms of quality, quantity and unit economics.
Manufacture: work with manufacturing experts and vendors to get designs manufactured at the lowest cost without compromising on quality.
Plan: project time estimations to assist in project/company level planning.
Ideally, you are an experienced mechanical engineer working in the consumer appliances domain and have a proven track record of solving complex engineering problemsYou geek out on bringing new products to market, from concept to the container ship.
What we think you will need to succeed in this role:
Bachelors or masters in mechanical engineering.
5+ years of hands-on experience and proven track record in the full new product development cycle: prototype to production.
Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies for manufacturing.
Preferably experience in the consumer/home electronics industry.
Ability to apply engineering analysis, creative problem solving, attention to detail, and diligence in finding the best solution for each design challenge.
Strong analytical/ decision making skills to trade off between concepts.
Experience leading a fmea assessment to successful completion with associated risk reduced to an acceptable level and drive design verification and plan report (dvpr).
Hands-on experience in sheet metal and plastic designing.
Strong experience in statistical tolerance stack up techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, asme standards.
Experience working with interdisciplinary fabrication teams to build and assemble prototypes.
Experience with simulation and modeling tools for both 2d and 3d applications.
Experience and passion for hands-on prototyping.
Experience working in a highly collaborative team environment and self-motivated to identify and resolve design issues
A solid history of solving complex problems while being able to work collaboratively while handling multiple projects on various timelines - this includes working with junior engineers to help them complete their projects.
Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to articulate design performance and independently drive people/groups for design, schedule, and quality.
Curious what it`s like to work at futuristic labs?
Being in an early start-up,you will be working closely and along with the leadership team and can potentially learn and grow exponentially.
Our people are at the heart of what we do at futuristic labsWe know we are better when all of our people are developed, engaged and able to bring their whole authentic selves to workWe invest in the health and well-being of our peopleWe train and reward talent and are looking to develop leaders at all levels to bring out the best in each other.
