Position summary
Candidate in this position is expected to manage elements of exela’s sec reporting and ensure compliance with us gaap as well as sec and fasb rules and regulations in financial reports, company records and material transactionsThis position is responsible for ensuring the production of accurate financial statements and disclosures in required sec periodic filings (i.e10-k, 10-q and 8-k)This position works closely with the investor relations team, as well as business unit accounting leaders in a number of areas including mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions.
Responsibilities
Preparation of the quarterly and annual reports on form 10-q/k and manage the internal and external review for these documents
Create and maintain sec calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence for the process
Co-ordinate the preparation of the company’s xbrl filings (prior sec filing experience on toppan merrill bridge platform will be a positive add-on) and us gaap and sec disclosure checklists
Research technical accounting topics and prepare memos documenting conclusions of accounting treatmentStay informed of the latest rules, regulations and reporting requirements of sec and fasb
Review interpretation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements, revise, review, and update documentation required for accounting policies and project manage the task to oversee the company wide implementation of those policies
Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures and other issues
Communicate clearly to the investor relations group any comments with respect to periodic announcements and analysis of results
Review tie-out support prepared by others for financial reporting and sox compliance
Ensure there is global consistency with financial reporting
Work on other special and ad hoc projects in corporate controllership as required
Desired skills and experience
Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or related field
Active cpa license required
Four + years of working experience, with 4 years of sec reporting experience with a public company and / or background in ‘big 4’ accounting firm required
In-depth knowledge of us gaap and sec rules and regulations are necessary
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, particularly with respect to technical accounting
Knowledge of compliance with the requirements of sarbanes oxley, including identifying and documenting key controls and processes, assisting with remediation activities, and supporting related internal controls testing
Proficient in enterprise information systemsProficient in ms office applications
