Due to continued growth, our nuclear services group is seeking a full time pt or ltlb consultant to support our baton rouge, la, ft worth, tx, kennesaw, ga, palm beach gardens, or napervile, il or chattanooga, tn office locations.
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)
Design and analysis of changes to existing power plants as well as new plant systems.
Support of engineering design and analysis projects for the power industry.
Perform work requiring the application of basic technical principles, theories, standards and conceptsThis will include reading and understanding design drawings and technical specifications as necessary to support preparation of project deliverables, such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations.
Perform reviews, assemble and prepare design modification packages
Perform site walkdowns to identify design solutions and develop cost-effective problem resolutions
Support field implementation including development of field change requests (fcrs) and temporary modifications
Perform return to service and closeout of modifications
Most projects are multi-disciplined and require extensive interface with other staff engineers as well as engineers working out of our offices.
Evaluates operations & proposed modifications to determine compliance with engineering principles, standards, federal, state, or local statutes, and environmental regulations.
Required qualifications/ skills
Bachelors of science degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, nuclear or civil) from an accredited university
Minimum 10 + years’ experience
Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of calculations
Makes recommendations based on knowledge and experience
Directs and oversees routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintains quality standards of all assigned projects
Proficient in word and excel
Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
Good writing, presentation and communication skills
Must be able to traverse stairs and ladders at client sites
Must be able to traverse client sites to conduct walkdowns
Must be able to work outside at client sites in all weather conditions
Must be able to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
Preferred qualifications/ skills:
Gaining familiarity with and application of industry codes and government regulations
Entergy qualifications cards for ecs, calculations, design verification, specifications, testing, licensing, etcDesired
Prior experience in the design of power, control, and instrument circuits at nuclear power plants
Pe license
Employment requirement:
Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; enercon and client specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (mvr) according to company and client policies.
Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites.
Must be legally eligible to work in the us without current or future sponsorship.
