Environmental resources management (erm) is a leading global provider of environmental, health, safety, risk, social, and sustainability consulting servicesWe are currently seeking a senior environmental autocad specialist in california (remote work is possible).
The ideal candidate is an organized professional with self-initiative, a positive team attitude, technical aptitude, creativity and flexibility to help our global business deliver to our demanding clientsThe successful candidate will be confident, solution-oriented, and able to communicate efficiently with technical professionalsStrong verbal and written communication skills are therefore essential for success in this roleThis posting is for a full-time, permanent position.
Duties and responsibilities:
Generate maps for environmental reports and documents such as site location maps, site detail maps, groundwater contour maps, and chemical concentration maps.
Generated geologic cross sections from boring logs and input/instructions from geologist.
Generated remedial design construction drawings; including piping and instrumentation diagrams, mechanical, and civil plans with input/instructions from engineers.
Coordinate cad work schedule and assist in recruiting/scheduling other cadd resources.
Seek out work as needed to maintain backlog.
Maintain cad server files and keep reference materials and standards up to date.
Provide technical advice regarding autocad, civil 3d and other graphic related software.
Qualifications and skills
10+ years in environmental consulting and engineering using autocad and civil 3d.
Ability to multitask and adjust work priorities in dynamic situations under time constraints.
Ability to collaborate with project teams and provide expert input on cadd subject matters.
Ability to work independently and/or with minimum supervision from project managers.
High level experience/skills using autocad 2021 to generate mechanical design plans, elevations, and details such as piping layout, machinery and equipment layout, and various mechanical details.
High level experience/skills using civil 3d to generate civil drawings such as excavation plans, grading plans, profiles, details, cut and fill, alignments, and volume calculations.
Ability to generate process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (p&id) in accordance with ansi/ isa 5.1 instrumentation and symbols identification.
Ability to “think outside the box” to solve autocad and civil 3d problems.
Knowledge of various coordinate systems such as state plane coordinate systems, utm, latitude/longitude and transformation from one coordinate system to another.
Knowledge of microsoft excel and word.
Familiar with surfer app a plus.
Familiar with grapher app a plus.
Familiar with google earth (importing and exporting from autocad/civil 3d to google earth).
