Reporting to our phoenix, az office, the successful candidate will develop and maintain the 10-year long-term capital program recommendations in accordance with operational and management goals for water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems.
Our mission in planning is to help epcor understand their current systems and anticipate their future needsOur engineers and gis professionals use asset data, operations trends, engineering analysis & models, cartographic mapping, and infographics to analyze, develop, and communicate responsible long-term project recommendations for epcor’s 10-year capital improvement program.
To plan, coordinate, and manage consultants to complete comprehensive planning studies to support capital projects required to sustain and supply organic growth within existing service territories.
Perform technical analysis or studies to support design, construction, infrastructure reliability, water quality and operational optimization including data analysis, hydraulic modeling and cost estimating.
Maintain the hydraulic models of various systemsOversee the model calibration, model run versioning & storage, routine model updates, and communication of model resultsDevelop model deliverables to respond to operational and engineering infrastructure inquiries.
Mentor/train other planning engineers and gis staff to perform technical system analysis.
Work in a team environment and facilitate stakeholder consensus.
Education: 4-year degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related technical degree.
Certifications & licenses: registration as a professional engineer in the state of arizona; adeq operator certification(s) are a plus.
Experience: 5-10 years of engineering/operations experience in water distribution, wastewater collection, water/wastewater treatment, reclaimed/non-potable water systems, and land development.
Knowledge: understanding of water/wastewater conveyance; basic understanding of water/wastewater utility operations and private water utility economics; familiarity with arizona, new mexico, and texas regulatory entities and requirements is a plus.
Skills: ability to analyze and interpret data; organizeUse independent judgment and exercise discretion; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely; excellent analytical, organizational and planning skillsAdvanced computer skills in microsoft office software including spreadsheets, presentation and scheduling softwareAdvanced skills with hydraulic modeling software; familiarity with gis software is a plus.
Physical requirements: frequent sitting and standing in office/desk; frequent reaching, handling paperwork/files; operating computer and other office equipment; frequent speaking, listening, seeing; occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds.
