Effect photonics is looking for a highly experienced field application engineer for our us based marketAs one of our key team membersYou will provide superb technical pre-sales support, you will be the key technical interface to our customers and you will need to be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of our customer applications.
You will be capable of providing solutions based consulting and be able to assist in on site root cause analysis and scenario creationYour role will also include pre-sales activities, formulating product specification as per the customer`s needsFurthermore, you will design and develop a clear customer engagement plan and effectively communicate customer requirements within our plm and engineering departments.
Role responsibilities:
Understand & drive customer requirements into the front end process for discussion with product line management (plm)
Analyse and evaluate the customer applications for effect photonics product portfolio and define the value add
Provide application material, whitepapers, brochures, training on customer applications for global re-use
Provide rfx responses as first-level support
Ensure the latest understanding of product functions, roadmap, and status in close alignment with plm
Provide technical market feedback to plm
Marketing support on applications and facilitating customer demonstrations
Technical readouts to plm and smt on customer requirements
Support regional sales managers in their win strategy on all technical aspects
Provide on-site root cause analysis and solutions where possible
Creating test scenarios supporting customer requirements in the application lab environment
Work closely with customers to expedite product family design-ins
Required / desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
The perfect candidate probably has an mba/msc degree (engineering or economics), and at least 8 years of technical service experience with direct and distribution accountsHaving specific optical / photonics transceiver experience would be a great bonusIn the past, you have succeeded in working independently and remotelyYou know how to interact with customers and create internal and external reportsYou have proven to be able to create technical scenarios and test solutions in customer networks or a lab environmentAbility to report on test findings and document technical issues and solutions.
Furthermore, you have broad knowledge and experience in:
Dwdm systems
Tuneable laser
Sfp, sfp+, qsfp modules
Direct detect and coherent technology
Optical transceivers hw & sw
Itu standards for transceivers
Handling mts
You are accurate and reliable, and your english is outstanding for effective customer interactionYou have demonstrated field service and repairing experience for the high-tech industry in the pastYou are highly motivated and self-driven, able to deliver on time, customer-focused, and have a hands-on mentality.
